I hear a lot of conversation, and get talked at a lot about this topic since I am a wedding photographer. But I thought I would share with you, the reasons why I do think hiring a wedding photographer is an amazing idea.

I don’t want you to regret anything about one of the most important days of your life. And you’d be surprised how many times I have heard this phrase, “I should have hired a professional wedding photographer.” (See the linked post for a real response from a real bride on this topic.)

Commitment.

When a photographer asks for the 50% deposit to save the date, they aren’t being greedy. They are making sure that the date you want cannot be taken by another bride. Weddings are booked on a first come, first serve basis.

After that you sign the contract. (The contract is actually for you) To make sure your photographer upholds what they say they will do.

Relationship.

Weddings are such an emotional experience, and building a good relationship with your photographer is so important. When I or any other photographer shows up to your wedding we want you to feel as if you are just reconnecting with a friend who’s there to capture every special moment of your day!

Community.

This doesn’t apply to all photographers, but to most that I know. You should be integrated into a community of brides. Other brides that have walked before you, and can help you when you feel stuck.

This is something I hope to create as my Hope Ann Bridal Community grows, because I love relationships.

Experience.

It’s important for me, as a wedding photographer, to create a seamless experience for the bride. Everything should be easy. From making the payment, to signing the contract, to having a wedding day timeline, etc.

Peace of Mind.

You should have peace of mind when hiring your wedding photographer. That’s why it’s so important that you not only connect personally with them, but know what their work looks like, and have an in-person consultation. It creates trust between the both of you. You need to work with someone you trust on your big day.
