Grab your favorite cup of hot tea(or coffee), and stay a while.

Hi! I'm Hope!

I love it when clients bring incorporate their fur babies to their sessions, but I have a few tips on how to bring your dog to your portrait session.

First things first, tell your photographer! That may seem simple, but you can’t just spring your pets on them at the session. Chances are they have a plan for your session, including posing, clothing changes, how long the session will last, etc.

Make your location pet friendly. Make sure you choose a location like the Blueridge Parkway, Pilot Mountain State Park, Tanglewood, etc. etc.

Bring someone with you. Typically I will incorporate them a few times in the session, so you’ll want someone to care for them instead of having to put them back into your car.

Bring something to grab their attention. Bringing someone is going to be massively helpful so they can hold up a toy, or a treat or something that grabs their attention, and gets them to sit for the photo.

Trained. They need to be at least, somewhat trained to sit, & stay. The places we go will probably require a leash, but for the photos we will want to take that leash off. They need to be trained to stay beside you when that happens, & not just run off.
