Hi! I'm Hope!

Hello! I hope you are enjoying the Divergent Series so far.

The Knife Throwing Scene was a little tricky to do. There is so much Tris is thinking about in this scene, and I am not a professional actress. I do try to bring some depth to the characters I portray though.

Isn’t that amazing? That just by looking at an image, you could come up with about 1,000 different things that this person could be thinking, or saying.

Kife Throwing Scene Divergent “I hold my breath as he turns the last knife in his hand. I see a glint in his eyes as he pulls his arm back, and lets the knife fly. It comes straight at me, spinning, blade over handle. My body goes rigid. This time, when it hits the board, my ear stings, and blood tickles my skin. I touch my ear. He nicked it.” Excerpt from the book)

The fear simulations are the hardest ones to do. In just this one scene, there is so much that is not only happening around her, and to her, but you have to find a way to incorporate what she’s thinking.
Fear Simulation Crows Divergent

“I stand in a field of dry grass. The air smells like smoke, and burns my nostrils. I hear fluttering, like the pages of a book blown by the wind, but there is no wind. A shadow swoops over head. A black bird the size of my forearm turns it’s head and focuses one beady eye on me.

I grit my teeth and hit the crow again with my hand. The sky darkens, like a cloud is passing over the sun. A flock of crows storm toward me, an advancing army of outstretched talons and open beaks, each one squawking, filling the air with noise.

I try to run but my feet are firmly planted and refuse to move.”

Excerpts from the book

Tomorrow I will have another fear simulation up on the blog for you to see, plus more!

What are your thoughts on the Divergent series as a whole? Have you read them? If so, did you enjoy them?  Leave a comment down below, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
