Hi! I'm Hope!

Life Is Hard

Normally I would post this for an inspirational Monday post, but my schedule has been so up, and down, and I miss my little corner of the internet. This is the 2 month mark of this challenge, and I have to say it’s much harder to live it out than it is to write it down, or make it look pretty for a blog post.

I have found out some hard truths about myself, and my addiction to shopping. So I’ve had to take a big step back, and re-evaluate everything: My prayer life, my work life, my dreams, etc. Because for a while things in my life were really rocky, and I realized how much stock, and faith I placed in people(My friends, that’s a dangerous road to go down). So while I was feeling that emotional toil, buying things made me happy, and always gave me a high. It wasn’t major purchases, it was smaller things that can actually suck more money out of your wallet, and savings.

Once I cut out the frivolous spending, when I felt happy, or sad, I felt really anxious, or a bit like something was missing. And that’s the really sad part, because I was relying on things and people instead of on God completely, and 100%. While I don’t feel like everything is just all jolly, I do feel a lot more at peace by praying more, and reserving my mornings and nights for God, and Jesus. My joy is starting to come back, and the peace is something that passes understanding.

This contentment challenge has been so wonderful for me, and I’m so excited for what’s to come while I continue to pursue this challenge. I honestly can see this being a major lifestyle change for me, and I’m so glad it’s happening while I’m 27 years young.

How do you stay content within the hustle and bustle of daily life? Please share with us in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you.

Love,
