Do you ever wonder what someone does when they say, “I’m working.”? That’s exactly what I’m sharing with you, a behind the scenes look at my creative process.

Good. Let’s dive on in.

It may seem like photographers take images all. the. time. But actually it’s only 20% of what I do now. In the very beginning, the hobbyist stage, I photographed everything that moved, in every type of lighting situation, any chance that I could. This gave me more knowledge of what I loved to photograph verses what I didn’t. But now that I know what I love, I have to market my business to clients who will love it too.

So this is me. almost everyday.

Marketing. Dreaming. E-mailing. Social Media.

(And usually in my Gilmore Girls tee, leggings, & a messy bun. On this day I had just done Yoga & got straight to work.)

And let’s keep it 100%. I probably have some dry shampoo in there, & forgot to brush my teeth because I got so into working. Yeah. That happens from time to time.

When I’m not behind the computer I network. I use to not like getting out to meet new people because I was so anxious to be around a crowd of my fellow peers. I always felt like I was behind, or wasn’t as far a long as I should be, but you know what? Putting myself out there was the best thing I could do.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing people, make some awesome connections, & have walked away with friends in this industry. (Being a relational person, I value relationships more than anything else. This has been huge!)

I got to work with Alishia & her husband Josh from, Him & Her Photography on this beautiful, coral themed wedding session. I was so honored to be a guest photographer.

But I couldn’t be anything without the amazing clients that I’ve had. I’ve photographed my Hope Ann bride Brianna, from a senior to her wedding day. It’s been so fun to watch her grow in this way. I’ve photographed my bride Katilynn, and now get to watch her start a family of her own. (She’s having a girl!!!)  

Being there for them through their important milestones, & stages is the most fulfilling & rewarding part of my job. And that’s the part you get to see on Facebook & Instagram. I am naturally a relational person, so having my clients literally become friends is just the best!
