Hi! I'm Hope!

Hello lovelies! Today’s topic is one that is often talked about, especially in the creative community, and that is comparison.

Comparison Is A Thief

Comparison is a thief, no matter how you look it at. Comparison can make us so competitive that we push away anyone who seems, “threatening”. Comparison makes us hide in our rooms, crying, because “we don’t feel as if we are good enough”. Comparison can often times make us quit because of the following statement.

Comparison can really destroy us.

“Comparison is the thief of joy”

Personally, I still struggle daily with comparison. There are days when I check my Instagram, and see others living in their dreams. They are traveling, opening new businesses, gaining new clients left, and right, and I feel like I’m just struggling. So I’ve been where you probably are right now, but you don’t have to let it destroy you. Instead the next time you see someone in the creative industry doing something big, don’t get jealous, don’t start comparing yourself to them, instead congratulate them! Leave an encouraging comment on their Instagram, Blog, Facebook, E-mail, etc.

It’s like that old saying, “You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar”.

If you let comparison consume you it will make you bitter, and rigid. No one is going to want to be around you, network with you, or hire you. Instead of having fruitful relationships, you can end up isolated, and wondering what went wrong.

Cheer other fellow creatives on. Even if they don’t respond to you, do it anyway. Whatever you sow, you will reap it back.

Today start sowing some seeds of encouragement, seeds of happiness, and seeds of love towards others. It may seem like you are shouting into the void right now, but if you keep doing it consistently you will see amazing results not only in your business, but in your personal life as well.

Have you ever compared yourself to others? If so how did you respond, and what ways could you have handled it? Leave a comment down below, and chat with us.

Love,
